St. Joseph Catholic School PTF (Parents, Teachers, and Friends) organization meets monthly during the school year to discuss and plan school events. PTF hosts many fundraising events for our school, including the Hole-y Hawks Mini-Golf Tournament, Family Dining Out events, and the RaiseRight program. In turn, the PTF uses these proceeds to make donations to the school and support a wide range of programs and events for students and families, including fully covering the costs of students' field trips throughout the year.
PTF is more than just a fundraising group for school functions. We plan social events for our students and school community, such as the Back to School Pool Party, Grandparents and Special Friends Day, an All-School Halloween Party, a Thanksgiving Feast, Family Fun Nights, Student Appreciation Day, and Field Day. It's also a great place to meet other school families and get involved with events that build community.
As a way to give back to our families, for every PTF meeting you attend AND for every PTF event you volunteer to help with, you will receive one entry into the PTF Tuition Raffle. There will be two $250 drawings for the 2025-26 school year, at our PTF meetings in December and May.

PTF Meetings
Our next PTF meeting of the 2026-27 school year will take place on Wednesday, September 9, at 6:00 p.m. in the Parish Center. We look forward to kicking off the new school year together!
Typically, our PTF meetings will take place the second Tuesday of the month, though we sometimes adjust to avoid conflicts with school events (as is the case with our September meeting). Stay tuned for updates!
Anyone in our school community is encouraged to attend PTF meetings! Meeting attendance earns you: 1 volunteer hour toward the family requirement.
Upcoming Events
Each quarter, the PTF sponsors a luncheon for the amazing staff at St. Joseph. Please sign up for a slot to help us celebrate going back to school! Items may be dropped off on the morning of Tuesday, September 1, from 7:00 - 8:00 a.m. If you have any questions, please contact John Correll at 618-974-1021.
Our annual Grandparents & Special Friends Day will take place on Thursday, September 10. The morning will begin with a special mass at 8:15 a.m., followed by breakfast in the Parish Center Gym, sponsored by the PTF. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to share their school experience and for our guests to feel the joy and spirit of our school community. Be sure to RSVP by Friday, September 4, so we know how many guests to expect!
The PTF is in charge of the Kids Games at the St. Joseph Parish Picnic on Saturday, September 12. We are in need of many volunteers to take a shift and make the event a success! Students in Grades 5 and above are welcome to work a game. Sign up here.
Our next Dine to Donate event will take place on Sunday, September 13, at No Jacks in Smithton, from open to close (11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.). A portion of the proceeds from all dine-in and carry-out orders will go back to our PTF. Our October Dine to Donate event will take place on October 2 at The Bullpen in New Athens and feature an additional bake sale and 50/50 raffle.
