Welcome to the St. Joseph School website. We hope this site will be very beneficial to those who visit, and will aid us in communicating with parents, friends, and anyone else interested in our school. For those not familiar with St.Joseph School, here is a brief history.

St. Joseph School has a strong tradition and it offers a diverse education. St. Joseph School has been a vital part of the community for well over 100 years. When you walk down our main hall, one of the first things you will notice is the photographs of each of our graduating classes from 1940 to the present. Many of these graduates send their own children here, which says a great deal about their confidence in St. Joe's. Located in the center of Freeburg, some children walk to St. Joe's, while others ride their bikes, the bus, or are driven by their parents. Class size is limited to no more than 25 students per class. This allows students to get the appropriate amount of attention from our professional staff. Our current teacher-to-student ration is 12-1.

Our curriculum not only offers the basic core subject areas, but offers the opportunity for students to prepare themselves for the ever-changing world in which we live. We have computers in each classroom as well as a computer lab to sharpen those computer/technology skills. The building is networked and has internet access on each of our computers. Our teacher-to-student ratio allows for a great deal of one-on-one instruction and supervision while students work with the computers. Accelerated Reading is a supplement to our reading program (see our library section on this site). For a complete listing of course offerings, please contact our school office @ 539-3930. St. Joseph School offers a variety of extra-curricular activities as well, which can be found on this site. Students have the opportunity to eat hot lunch at school in our parish center provided by Freeburg Grade School. As stated previously, bus transportation is also available through Carl L. Barton School. We are blessed to have great support from our local public school administrators in regard to both of these items.

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site. We hope it will be beneficial. If you have any comments or suggestions for things to add to our site, feel free to call us or e-mail our office at office@stjosephfreeburg.org. Again, thank you for visiting our site: www.stjosephfreeburg.org.
