After the keyboarding unit
at the beginning of the school year, each class begins with a
2-minute timing. If a student does the two-minute timing with 0 errors,
their name is put on a special chart recognizing the students who have achieved
0 errors.
Correct Keyboarding Technique Back to top
The correct
keyboarding position for body, hands and fingers is very important. The student
should sit straight with feet down in front of them. Arms should be relaxed at the
sides. Fingers should be slightly curved and wrists should be about an inch
from the keyboard, not touching the keyboard or the desk. The keyboard should
be even with the front of the table or desk. The student’s body should be a
hand span away from the desk, centered on the J key.
