Welcome Mrs. Vielweber – St. Joseph
Catholic School has hired Mrs.Charlotte Vielweber as principal for the
2010-11 school year. Mrs. Vielweber is a lifelong resident of Freeburg,
Illinois and a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School. She attended Notre

teaching and educational experience to this position. Mr. Russ Hart,

seasoned professional at the helm. “She brings over thirty years of school
experience, plenty of enthusiasm, and is ready to lead us in the new school
year.”
“What a wonderful life experience for me to go full circle to serve as
principal of the school where I once was a student. I look forward to
working with Mr. Hart, assistant superintendent, the teachers and staff, and
the parents. Together we will provide a quality academic program enriched
with faith-based values in a safe and nurturing environment where students
have many experiences both inside and outside the classroom that make
learning fun and rewarding.”

Joseph Catholic School. Mr. Hart has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial
Technology Education, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Masters degree
in Public School Administration. He comes to St. Joseph with 9 years of
experience as a principal in the diocese of Belleville – 3 years with St.
Joseph and 6 years with Gibault Catholic High School. Prior to being a

Fr. Mark Reyling and the board in the hiring of a new principal and
implementing the newly formed strategic plan. Among his duties, he will
concentrate on staff development, overseeing curriculum, and recruiting. In
addition, he is excited about being part of a communications upgrade which
is happening this summer at St. Joseph. School families will now receive
important information via School Reach, an automated telephone system, and
FastDirect, a computerized system which delivers classroom and school office
information.
“St. Joseph’s has such a rich history of producing outstanding
students – over 140 years! To have the opportunity to be a part of that
tradition is such a blessing. I’m truly looking forward to renewing
friendships and cultivating new ones as we work together to carry on that
tradition.”

Teacher Wish List
Each year the teachers fill out a wish list which is placed in a
binder in the teachers' lounge. Many people were not aware of this.
The following is a list of items
that were requested by our teachers for their use this school year.
These items may be something that you have around your home that you no
longer need. Please take a look at the list to see if there is anything
you may be able to provide.
Thank you for your generosity.
